We report our carbon emissions through the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international non-profit organisation which works with corporations to help them measure and manage their environmental impact – and the results show continuous improvement.
As a responsible business, we’re committed to reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and improving our environmental performance. To do this right, we need to measure and monitor our progress, and report on this transparently and clearly.
Since 2010, DP World has participated in CDP – the most respected initiative of its kind, which holds the most comprehensive set of global corporate environmental data. Through its climate change programme, thousands of the world’s largest companies disclose information on their greenhouse-gas emissions, energy use and climate change risks.
During this time, we’ve reduced carbon emissions through a broad range of actions, including monitoring energy use, making our terminal operations more efficient, embracing renewable energy projects and investing in low-carbon technologies.
Our CDP results have shown significant improvement year on year:
• 2015: 95 A-
• 2014: 81 B
• 2013: 70 C
DP World is part of the “transport industry” within the “industrials sector”. The latest results show that we are within the top 10%.
As well as spurring further improvements in our own performance, transparently disclosing information through CDP can help improve decision-making on climate change for investors, business and policy-makers.
