DP World Vancouver is located in the inner harbour of downtown Vancouver, and is a key gateway port for the Trans-Pacific Trades between Asia and the Pacific North West. In addition to serving the local market for British Columbia, DP World Vancouver provides direct daily intermodal rail connection to the important markets of Eastern Canada and the US Mid West, covered by both Canadian Pacific (CP) and Canada National (CN) railways.

In 2006 DP World Vancouver underwent a US$ 160 million re-engineering project, converting the mode of operation to RTG, leading to a significant increase in yard capacity.

DP World Vancouver continues to be a leader in the application of advanced technology with GPS tracked RTG along with Optical Character Readers (OCR) being introduced at the truck gate, rail gate and gantry quay cranes. In 2007, DP World Vancouver was the first container terminal in North America to be certified to ISO/PAS 28000, the highest independent security certification, and is an accredited member of C-TPAT.
